Fast forward to 2019...

Well, it's been a almost 7 years I guess since I've posted anything on the #HarrisFamilyBlog! Crazy....We've added two kids to the mix and recently relocated our little family to the countryside in a small town called Eldred, PA. Population: 836.

We used to live in a town with a population of over 115,000! Crazy right...I KNOW! Who does that? Well, WE DO! #hahaha! I get the same look and response from every single person in the area...when  they ask, "Where did ya move from?" and we say, "Tampa, FL..." It's an immediate blank stare and the "whyyy here?"

Let me tell you the, "Why..."

We decided in May 2019 to list our house for sale and see what happens. By the time our home was actually ready to be listed for sale it was now June 14. It was a Friday evening and at 5:30pm our listing was officially live. By 7pm we had two showings scheduled for the next day. And then one showing on Sunday and they continued to be schedule for the next two weeks. It was exactly two weeks from listing that we accepted an offer. June 28, 2019. To make things even more fun and crazy- we had a 5am flight to Paris the next morning.

It was a relief to have a contract on our home and know that the plans (His plans) were falling into place.

We returned from Paris about a week later and started packing-oh the joy! We had three weeks to pack our entire home into thousands (ok, I'm exaggerating a little) of boxes, a 10x10 AND 10x20 storage unit. Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about all of that again!

So- I'll skip to the part where we close on the sale of our home and start the trek to PA where we had no idea what life was going to look like EXCEPT we knew it would be OK because we had each other.

So, the Why...OH! I forgot the WHY! We decided to relocate to a small town because we wanted more family time. Our current life was hectic- both working full-time jobs and raising two littles who both attended daycare and preschool. My husbands schedule was 7 days a week with hours ranging from 7am-6pm, 11am-9pm, 8am-6pm and everything in between. He had no holidays and worked 15+ hours on holidays also. This change would give him a more traditional schedule and allow me to stay home with our youngest until she is in grade school.

We want to raise our children in church on Sundays and with our schedule the way it was...that was nearly impossible. We want to spend holidays together as a family. We want our children to have space to roam and run and be free. Living in a subdivision surrounded by neighbors and traffic made that impossible. We consider ourselves to be traditional and I enjoy being a homemaker. Something that I struggled with when working full-time was that I couldn't take care of my home and kids the way I felt was right because I put all my energy and time into my job. At the end of the day, the last thing I wanted to do was slave in the kitchen or fold clothes for two hours! UGH!
Our home in PA.

So, now that you know our WHY and part of the HOW...I hope you'll continue to follow us along on this journey. Most of it just living by faith and seeking Gods will for our lives. We took a leap and we are SO glad we did!
